The following thumbnails are from my forest scene, they show the processes i took to get from my initial sketch to my final piece.

These last three thumbnails where an experiment in which I played around with the colours.
I like thumbnail 15 because it has more of jungle look, but i also think 14 & 16 work really well due to the darkness that is in the image.

oh waw, I really like these for instance 14 and 15, the use of layering, it really has depth- keep it up
ReplyDeleteYes, for me number 15 has the most forest-like feel to it. Going back to the previous thumbnail post, you said that the central area is going to be a field of glowing flowers? I am finding hard to visualise this at the moment, as this is such a strong water texture...to me, at the moment, it is looking more like a toxic swamp of some sort. But I like the way the glow is creeping up the base of the trees.
ReplyDelete@Jackie, yes indeed, I did decided to go with water, as i found portraying a field of flowers rather difficult. i'm still in the process of adding detail to the foreground & background elements, and may experiment a little more with the flower idea.
ReplyDeleteOk! Does the excerpt specifically mention flowers? You could always incorporate a floral element by having some kind of weird waterlily type flowers floating on your water surface... how are the other 2 scenes coming along anyway? Thumbnails for those too please!! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, let's have a look at your flower field efforts too...they will count towards your 100+ thumbnails, and you might get some advice on how you could go about amending them!
ReplyDeleteWow lekti this is awesome nice use of foreground, mid and background looks really effective I really like 16's colours as the darkness is effective
