I have some more ideas that you could use too but we can talk about them laterHelen Jacobs-Granthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14938430588039479721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4305672422028457718.post-46074560884812686282012-10-03T07:18:30.718+01:002012-10-03T07:18:30.718+01:00Well done Lekti - that's the first one out of ...Well done Lekti - that's the first one out of the way! :)
I would agree with Phil...your blog template looks much more professional now that you have taken it back to a simpler template, but I too would suggest that you just use your name in this instance. You want people to notice you for the right reasons!!
Looking forward to seeing some thumbnails later on today! :DJackiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13332181835614441447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4305672422028457718.post-25288552271312761242012-10-02T23:20:29.634+01:002012-10-02T23:20:29.634+01:00Hey Lekti - indeed, congratulations on 'publis...Hey Lekti - indeed, congratulations on 'publishing' your first example of critical thinking expressed as critical writing! Academic writing isn't a natural mode - what with all it's conventions and 'must haves' - but you've accomplished a lot here. A few quibbles to think about as you prepare your next slice of academic writing; the brackets that follow a quote actually encompass all the citation, so instead of Nesbit (2006), it's (Nesbit, 2006) - picky, I know, but picky I am! :)

And I do have another observation I'd like you to think about; one of the things we advise students to do is actually use their name in their blog title - not a nickname; now, I know you like to be known as Lekti - and that's not a problem - but I wonder how 'professional' it is to be known as Lekti, the imaginary wolf? Our experience around work placement and employment encourages us to encourage students to more simply use their name - so your blog title could, and maybe should just read 'Lekti Rose Jacobs'. Imagine, for example, that your blog template has to function like a business card - it has to tell people your name in a clear and easy way, so that they know where to find you if they need to find you. If you're following the blogs of year 2 and year 3 students, you'll perhaps notice that there isn't any nicknames or 'zany' components to their online identities - just the power of their own name and their work. Anyway - give it some thought as you further get to grips with this whole blogging culture.

Otherwise, onwards and upwards, Lekti - onwards and upwards (and publish those thumbnails!!!) :)tutorphilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11842833126210822641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4305672422028457718.post-63922519441089541202012-10-02T19:00:40.223+01:002012-10-02T19:00:40.223+01:00Your first ever online review, brilliantly done :)...Your first ever online review, brilliantly done :)Helen Jacobs-Granthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14938430588039479721noreply@blogger.com
